A big decision has come from Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh on Gyanvapi. The High Court has given permission to continue the puja in the Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi. This is considered a big victory for the Hindu side.
Varanasi district court gave decision for puja in Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi
Let me tell you that the Varanasi District Court had given a historic decision on January 31 in the Gyanvapi case.
The court had given the right to Hindus to worship regularly in the basement of Somnath Vyasji located in the Gyanvapi complex. The district court directed to make arrangements to conduct the puja Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi within 7 days.
Within just 8 hours of the court issuing the order, the administration had got the barricading removed. A new door was installed in that basement and the entry way inside was opened.
Muslim side had gone to SC to stop the puja in Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi
After the decision of the district court, Vyasji was preparing for Hindu puja in the basement. So the Muslim side was busy preparing to stop the puja.
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court at midnight on behalf of Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee, the operator of Gyanvapi Masjid.
On this, at around 3 am in the morning, Chief Justice Justice D.Y. During the hearing, Chandrachud refused to give immediate relief to the Muslim side.
He was asked to go to Allahabad High Court. Today the decision of Allahabad High Court has come and the puja will continue in the Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi.

The single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal of Allahabad High Court gave this important decision. Puja will continue in Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi, petitions of Muslim side rejected.
Mosque side says โ no idol is present in basement
The Varanasi district court order came a day after the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) report on the mosque complex was made public.
The suggestion was made in an ASI survey ordered by the same court in connection with this matter. That the mosque was built on the remains of a Hindu temple during the rule of Aurangzeb.
The mosque committee had refuted the petitioner’s point. The committee said that no idol was present in the basement. Therefore till 1993 there was no question of praying there.

- Shatanand Vyas performed the puja in 1551. Vyas family claimed puja.
- Worship took place in the basement from 1551 to 1993. Vyas family claims.
- In 1993, the then Mulayam government stopped worship in the Rukwai basement.
- Since then till now (for 31 years) puja is not taking place in the basement.
- In September 2023, Shailendra pathak Vyas filed a petition in the court regarding the right to worship in the basement.
- Petition demanded to hand over the basement to DM
- The district administration took possession of the basement on January 17, 2024.
- On January 31, 2024, Varanasi District Court gave permission for worship in the basement.
- The Muslim side filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court. Muslim side challenged this decision in the High Court.
- Today Allahabad High Court upheld the decision to continue the puja in the Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi.
