Through festivals, workers get a chance to see and understand them closely. It enhances your intellectual capacity. Due to which Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh gets a golden opportunity to connect new people with the organization.
To celebrate the festival, preparations are made in a simple manner. Proper arrangements are also made for all the volunteers.
In an effort to organize the society, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh celebrates six major festivals: Varsha Pratipada, Hindu Empire Day, Shri Guru Purnima, Raksha Bandhan, Vijaya Dashami and Makar Sankranti.
1. Varsh Pratipada (Mar-Apr)

Varsha Pratipada is also calling Indian New Year or Hindu New Year. From this day the first day of Vikrami Samvat begins. To celebrate this day, the volunteers of the Sangh in their full uniform gather at the Sangh Sthan (place).
In the memory of Sangh founder Dr Hedgewar, bowing his head and remembering him through ‘Adya Sarsanghchalak Pranam’. This pranam (salutation) happens only once a year.
This program is held on all the branches of the Sangh on the day of Pratipada. Varsha Pratipada is in a way the first festival in Sangh Utsav which is celebrating by the Sangh.
चैत्र मासे जगद्ब्रह्म समग्रे प्रथमेऽनिशुक्ल पक्षे समग्रे तु सदा सूर्योदये सति।
We celebrate Varsha Pratipada Day because it marks the rise of a victorious Hindu society. According to Brahma Purana, the creation of the world started on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. From this day the time counting start in India.
This day comes in spring. In spring the trees and vines are filled with flowers. It spreads the happiness, joy and intoxication of New Year in the minds of people. Varsha Pratipada is, in a way, the first festival of the year. Which is celebrated by the Sangh.
2. Guru Purnima (July-August)

The festival of Guru Purnima is celebrated on Ashadh Purnima. It’s one of the RSS Utsav. Vyas Maharshi has shown us his great ideals while determining the best qualities of our national life.
In this way Veda Vyas is the world guru. Similarly, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has also made the saffron flag one of its gurus. Which awakens in us the feeling of dedication towards the country.
On this day, volunteers also give gifts in the form of Guru Dakshin. Due to which the work of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh runs smoothly.
गुरू ब्रह्मा गुरू विष्णु, गुरु देवो महेश्वरा गुरु साक्षात परब्रह्म, तस्मै श्री गुरुवे नमः !!
You know that the Sangh does not take any donation, donation or tax from anyone. He does his work with the funds given by the volunteers. Guru Purnima is one of the fastival of RSS utsav (Sangh utsav).
The Sangh has considered the Bhagwa dhwaj (saffron flag) as its guru. Because change (natural, external pressure) can happen in a person at any time. But not in essence. That is why RSS did not consider any person as a Guru.
On the festival of Guru Purnima, a person gets the opportunity to express his devotion towards the Guru. Because of this great work of such a Guru, a person expresses his gratitude by worshiping him.
A person becomes knowledgeable and gets the ability and power to move towards his goal by getting proper guidance in life by sitting at whose feet. That great man has been given the position of Guru in his society.
Expressing gratitude for any favor is the specialty of Hindu society. The importance of Guru Purnima festival is understandable from this point of view. Whatever they offer. Presents before his flag. The entire Sangh Parivar gives its all.
3. Hindu Samrajya Diwas (June-July)

The coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took place on the day of Jyeshtha Shukla Trayodashi Vikrami Samvat 1731 (1674 AD). This
Hindus know it as the foundation day of Pad Pad Shahi.
Due to fear of Muslim invader and king, people used to say that ‘Hindu state’ cannot be formed. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj removed this inferiority complex.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj proved with limited resources that Hindus were superior in every respect, independent and capable of becoming their own rulers.
The purpose behind celebrating this festival of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is to bring out the power within us and show that like Shivaji, you too can become a capable ruler. Hindu Samrajya Diwas is also a part of Sangh utsav.
4. Rakshabandhan (August- September)

Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan. On this day, efforts are made to eliminate caste discrimination in the society and create a society full of equality and harmony.
You must be aware that Rakshabandhan is a festival of brothers and sisters only. But this is not completely true.
Rakshabandhan means that which protects our culture, society, dignity and respect. To increase the bond of closeness with that person, nature, weather.
The festival of Rakshabandhan protects brothers and sisters. Therefore, a sister ties a protective thread on her brother’s wrist. At the same time, we should also tie Rakhi to the soldiers, saints and trees of our country.
It is also written in Skanda Purana that – “They used to exchange good wishes by tying pure golden threads on the hands of kings and other relatives and guests.”
Even in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, people take a resolution by tying a protective thread to the most venerable saffron flag. That the burden of protecting this flag is on us.
The society, nation and culture of which this sacred flag is a symbol. We will protect him. It is a festival of interdependent and interdependent justice of the society.
On this day, all the volunteers tie Rakhi to each other and people in settlements. And resolve to protect them. Raksha Bandhan is an important part of the Sangh utsav.
5. Vijayadashami (October-November)

The festival of Vijayadashami is celebrated on Ashwin Shukla Dashami. This day is also of great importance for the volunteer.
Because on this day (Vijayadashami 1925) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was established. This day is also celebrated for the worship of Shakti.
On this day, Shri Ram united the common people and wild animals and won over the tyrannical and resourceful Ravana.
Let me tell you that the aim of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is to awaken the desire for victory. On the day of Vijay Dashami, programs and street movements are also organized by volunteers in uniform.
Through this, the strength and discipline of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is demonstrated. The volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will also unite and solve the problems of this country.
Just as Shri Ram created an organization with the help of all living beings, animals, birds, wild creatures and common humans. Later this same organization defeated the most influential, almighty Ravana of that time.
Ravana is a symbol of darkness, demon and untruth. At present, Hindu sisters and daughters are being tortured by this demon in the society.
Hindus are becoming homeless in their own land. To remove this atrocities and demonic tendencies, Hindus including common people will have to unite.
RSS is promoting this work of Pawan. Through Vijayadashami festival, the Sangh wants to tell us that we have to unite like Ram and achieve victory over the demon Ravana.
This festival is a part of Sangh Utsav. On this day, weapons are symbolically worshiped at the branches of the Sangh to remember the importance of power.
6. Makar Sankranti (January)

Makar Sankranti festival is celebrated according to lunar month calculations. According to solar month calculation, Magha 1 solar month usually falls on 14 January.
On this day, the Sun transits into Capricorn and enters Uttarayan from Dakshinayan. Due to which the days start getting longer. A positive change occurs in life.
Khichdi is prepared on this day. In which collective pulses are combined. Similarly, in our society too there is unity despite diversity, the feeling of that has to be awakened.
A mixture of jaggery and sesame is also made. Due to which jaggery contains the power to stick everyone, in the same way we too have to take everyone together.
Showing affection like a molehill. This festival increases the feeling of harmony and empowerment in the society. In this way, arrangements for programs are maintained in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh through festivals.
Due to which people join Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. And they consider the work of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as their goal. He protects Hindu culture.
