The Prime Minister said, ‘Amidst the increasing energy needs, affordable energy is being provided to everyone in India.
India is such a country. Where despite many global events, the prices of petrol and diesel have come down in the last two years.
India has also achieved 100 percent electricity coverage. Electricity is being supplied to crores of houses. Because of these efforts, India is making progress in the energy sector.
India is preparing modern infrastructure for the 21st century. In this financial year we will invest Rs 10 lakh crore in infrastructure only.
The reforms that our government has done. Due to this, domestic gas production in India is increasing rapidly. We are making efforts to increase the share of natural gas in the primary energy mix from 6% to 15%.
Energy demand in India will double by 2045
Let me tell you that development in India’s energy sector is very important. India is already the third largest energy consumer.
It is also the third largest oil consumer. It is the third largest LPG consumer country. India is the fourth largest LPG importer in the world. Ours is the fourth largest refinery market.
The automobile sector is also our fourth largest. Today, record sales of two-wheelers and cars are taking place in the country. Demand for EV is also increasing. It is estimated that the energy demand in India will double by 2045.
