Tukde Tukde Pakistan- Pakistan was formed with the inspiration of Islam. At that time the Muslims of united India wanted a separate country. That’s why there is Islam in the name of Pakistan. ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’ means ‘Islami Jamhuria Pakistan’ and is the full name of this nation.

But the question is, can a nation stand only in the name of Islam..? Iran and Iraq are both Muslim countries. But there have been many wars between the two. Iraq has attacked Kuwait several times. Muslim organizations have a big hand in destroying Syria. Pakistan does not get along with Afghanistan. There are many such examples. All these are Islamic nations, but they quarrel with each other. That is, just being a Muslim, cannot be the basis to bind a nation.

While making Pakistan, those who made it probably forgot this thing..! That is why even before the completion of twenty-five years of independence, a large part of it was separated from Pakistan due to language and local culture.

The people and leaders of East Bengal were mainly Muslims. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a Muslim who offered Namaz five times. But they didn’t make it. During 1970 – 71, the rulers of West Pakistan killed lakhs of Hindus in East Bengal.

Along with that, the Muslims there were also killed…. The followers of the same religion did this. Pakistanis could not understand the reason, Muslim religion cannot be a means or basis for nation-building. And Bangladesh stood as a separate nation.

The same thing is happening in other provinces of Pakistan. The same happened with the North West Frontier Province, and the same is happening. Due to Nehru and the British, this important state which believed in Gandhiji and Congress went to Pakistan. In that Pakistan, whose language was predominantly Punjabi and Urdu.

Bengali was also used in the beginning. But most of the people living in this NWFP spoke either Pashto or Hindi. There was neither equality of language, nor of customs. That’s why since the formation of Pakistan in 1947, Pathans have never been with Pakistan by heart.

Their universal leader, Badshah Khan i.e. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan was humiliated by Pakistan till his death. They were repeatedly caught and put in jail. When he died at the age of 98, even then he was under house arrest in Peshawar..!

This whole region is hilly, full of tribes, and undeveloped, but amazingly beautiful. It seems nature has showered all its blessings on this region. There are a total of 29 national parks in Pakistan, out of which 18 parks are in this region.

Jhelum, Indus, Kabul, Kurram, Swat, Panjkora, Kunar, Kunhar… these rivers have made this whole region green and full of natural beauty. The mountain ranges of the Hindu Kush have given it the splendor of creation along with its inaccessibility. The region is predominantly inhabited by Pashtuns, who are the second largest ethnic group in Pakistan after the Punjabis.

Peshawar is the capital of NWFP, which is today called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The oldest city in South Asia. The history of 539 BC is found in this city. Once upon a time, it was the city of ‘Purushpur’, a symbol of the cultural heritage of the Hindus. Magnificent and affluent. It was also a holy place for Buddhists.

Today the same Peshawar city has become worse due to terrorist attacks. Lots of pollution, narrow streets, and fear of terrorist attacks… this has become a permanent feature of Peshawar.

The remains of this once-prosperous Gandhara province are now turning into ruins. Anarchy and instability seem to be making the nature of this region special. Due to its border with Afghanistan, the Taliban also have interference in this region. Different groups of terrorists are eager to kill each other.

The first American spies used it to fight Russian soldiers in Afghanistan. Then after the Russian soldiers left, Taliban soldiers made Peshawar their base. Pakistan also maintained this entire region as a ‘Hub of Terrorism’.

In Abbottabad of this state, the Pakistani army had hidden ‘Osama bin Laden’ for many years. Here the Pakistani administration is absolutely helpless. In 2014, the Taliban killed 132 schoolchildren in the same city.

Right from the beginning, there was an atmosphere of protest against Pakistan in this NWFP. But due to being a border area and a forest-dwelling tribal community, Pakistan never paid attention to this area.

That’s why the voice of protest could not be raised. But after the nineties, America made this region a battleground to fight the Russians in Afghanistan, and all the equations kept changing. After 9/11, America had considered this region as a battlefield. Atrocities started on Pathans. And Pakistan was supporting the American army.

All the Pathans became against Pakistan. This atmosphere of protest grew in such a way that in the year 2009, forty feet big hoardings were put up on the major roads of this NWFP region, in protest against Pakistan. By then this area had become a ‘citadel of terrorism’.

In the year 2010, the Pakistani administration thought of doing something to improve it. He changed its name. From NWFP it became Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the year 2018, Pakistan’s semi-autonomous region, FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) merged into this region.

But there was no other change. Terrorist activities continued like that. The Pathans, who were living in the ancestral home, could not tolerate all this. They have launched a campaign for a separate ‘Pashtunistan’.

Umar Daud Khatak is a pro-Pashtunistan rebel leader. He was in the Pakistani army. But in protest against the Pakistani atrocities happening in his Pashtun region, he ran away from the Pakistani army and went to Afghanistan.

There he formed ‘The Pashtunistan Liberation Army’, of which he is the ‘Mission Commander’. Umar says, ‘Many youths like him, leaving the country in protest against Pakistani atrocities, are joining its ‘Pashtunistan Liberation Army’.
