What is ISRO Young Scientist Programme
For students interested in space science, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced the YUva VIgyani KAryakram for school children. This will be a 2 week residential program.
YUva VIgyani Karyakram is also known as ISRO Young Scientist Programme. ISRO gives information about space technology, space science and space applications to the students in this program.
Objective of ISRO Young Scientist Programme
You know that there is no dearth of intelligent and talented students in India. But many times, when he does not get the right platform, he deviates from his path.
Keeping all this in view, the Indian Space Research Organization has prepared the outline of this program to “Catch Them Young”. This will generate more interest in the field among the intelligent and talented students of India.
The objective of this ISRO Young Scientist Programme is to give correct information about space technology, science and applications to young students.
ISRO Young Scientist Programme will encourage students to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based research/careers.

ISRO Young Scientist Program expenses
Let us know about the travel expenses of the selected student in YUVIKA.
Traveling expenses of the selected student (second AC train fare or AC (including Volvo) bus fare authorized by the State Government or transport authorized by the State Government from the nearest railway station/bus terminal to the reporting center and back) will be provided.
The student will have to produce the original journey ticket for reimbursement of journey fare from the concerned ISRO centre.
If the student has not traveled by II AC train. So the maximum reimbursement of fare will be limited to the fare of II AC train.
The expenses for course material, accommodation and food etc. during the entire course will be borne by ISRO.
Application fee for YUVIKA 2024

There is no application fee of any kind for ISRO Young Scientist Programme.
What are the selection criteria of YUVIKA 2024?
Let us now know that selection criteria of ISRO Young Scientist Programme for students.
- Marks obtained in class 8 exam- 50% (Minimum)
- Performance in ISRO’s online quiz- 10%
- Participation in science fair
- Participation in Science Fair in the last 3 years at School/District/State and above level- 2/5/10% respectively.
- Winners of sports competitions 1 to 3 ranks at School/District/State and above level in the last 3 years – 2/4/5% respectively
- Scouts and Guides/NCC/NSS members in last 3 years- 5%
- Studying in village/rural school located in Panchayat area- 15%
- Minimum participation from each State/UT will be ensured

Step 1. First of all, interested students should login to the official website of ISRO (https://jigyasa.iirs.gov.in/login) (link activate)
Step 2. Now register on the given website by giving correct information.
Step 3. Register by visiting the website https://jigyasa.iirs.gov.in/registration ( link activate)
Step 4. Enter email after successful registration in the website.
Step 5. After this a link will come to your e-mail.
Step 6. Take part in the space quiz by clicking on the given link.
Step 7. Read the guidelines carefully before participating in the Space Quiz.
Step 8. Fill your personal details and educational qualifications.
Step 9. Scan and upload your documents and submit the application.
Step 10. Take a printout of receiving form and save it for future.
Things to note for YUVIKA 2024 application
Let us now know what are the things worth noting for the application of ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2024.
Before submitting, check all the information correctly once. Because ISRO will not give any second chance for application or correction.
The student will have to take a photo of the certificate and get it verified by the Principal/School Head who signs the certificate.
The verified certificate will have to be scanned and uploaded on the website. Photocopies of attested certificates will have to be uploaded on the certificate website for verification.
Get your certificate ready for verification by your Principal/Head of School/Parent/Guardian.
(In case of any discrepancy between the certificate(s) attached by the student and the certificate of verification submitted by the student, the candidature of the student will be cancelled.
