United Kingdom (UK) has got a big contact. Three British companies have been entrusted with the task of building attack submarines.
The contract is set to facilitate the development and construction of a new generation of attack submarines as part of the UK’s participation in the trilateral AUKUS Security (AUKUS Nuclear Submarines) Agreement.

AUKUS Nuclear Submarines According to the report, the AUKUS treaty is a collaborative effort between three countries, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Its purpose is to provide Australia with advanced nuclear-powered attack submarines. These submarines are to be deployed in the early 2030s and are aimed at countering China’s growing ambitions in the Indo-Pacific region.
Statement of British Defense Ministry on AUKUS Nuclear Submarines
Britain’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday on AUKUS Nuclear Submarines. That the contracts with BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Baycock are vital to the UK and the trilateral AUKUS programme.
The new submarines, known as SSN-AUKUS, will be the largest, most advanced and most powerful attack submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.
Let us tell you, the plans for SSN-AUKUS were unveiled by the leaders of Australia, UK and US in March. This comes as the three countries have stepped up their efforts to counter China in the Asia Pacific region.
Purpose behind AUKUS
AUKUS will involve development work until 2028, enabling BAE Systems to begin the detailed design phase of the submarine program and begin procurement of long-term items.
BAE Systems chief executive Charles Woodburn said: “This contract strengthens the Government’s support for our UK submarine business. Allows us to mature the design and invest in critical skills and infrastructure.
The primary focus of this effort is to build a fleet of state-of-the-art hunter submarines under AUKUS. Britain’s Defense Minister Grant Shapps said that these submarines will strengthen the Royal Navy.
