Pralaya: Air and surface-to-surface missile
In December last year itself, the Defense Ministry had given clearance to a unit of Pralay missile for the Indian Air Force. Pralay missile is a short-range surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missile. Its range is 150 to 500 kilometers. The idea of this missile was of Eastern Chief Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat.
Pralaya Speed
The speed of the Pralaya missile will be 1200 kilometers per hour. But it can increase up to 2000 kilometers per hour. That is, while falling on the target from the air, its speed increases.
Because at that time gravity starts working. China has this type of Dongfeng-12 missile, whereas, Pakistan has Ghaznavi, M-11 (obtained from China) and Shaheen missiles.
The advantage of short range is that it will destroy the enemy bases near the border in a jiffy. This missile was tested twice within 24 hours in the month of December 2021.
With the deployment of this missile on the border of China and Pakistan, both the countries will remain within their limits. If it is fired from near the border, it will not take much time to destroy the bunkers, cannons, military bases or their weapon depots of China or PAK.
Accuracy of Pralaya Missile
The accuracy and speed of the Pralaya missile makes it the most deadly. This missile weighing 5 tonnes can carry a conventional weapon weighing 500 to 1000 kg on its nose.
The technology of three missiles has been used in making this missile. These missiles are- Prahar, Prithvi-2 and Prithvi-3.

Pralay missile has the capability to attack even at night. This means that attacks on Chinese targets are possible even at night. That means it will be equipped with an infrared or thermal scanner which helps in attacking at night.
2. inertial guidance system
Pralay missile runs on an inertial guidance system.
3. solid propellant fuel
This Is solid propellant fuel. That means, high explosive, penetration, cluster munition, fragmentation, thermobaric and chemical weapons can be installed in the warhead of this missile.
4. Less space required for launching
8X8 Tata Transporter Erector Launcher is used for launching.
5. The accuracy of target destruction
The accuracy of destroying the target of Pralay is 10 meters i.e. 33 feet. That means, even if this missile falls within a radius of 33 feet from the target, it will cause equal damage.
It would have hit the target as accurately as possible. That means, the amount of area that needs to be destroyed will be destroyed.
