RSS Pracharak Mukundettan Ji– BJP leader P.P. Mukundan passed away. He was 77 years old. He died at 8 o’clock in the morning while undergoing treatment at Amrita Hospital,Ernakulam.
From 1966 to 2007, he was a campaigner of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for 41 years. He held the posts of RSS State Contact Pramukh, BJP State Organization Secretary, Temple Organization Secretary and Janmabhoomi Managing Director.

RSS Pracharak Mukundettan Ji: become a Swayamsevak
He was born on December 1, 1947 to Krishnan Nair and Kulangaraiyath Kalyaniamma at Manathana in Kannur district.
After his education, he became a full-time worker of the RSS in 1966 as a Vistarak in Kannur itself. Then he worked as Pracharak of Chengannur and Aluva Taluks, Pracharak of Thrissur District, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram Divisions.
After that he traveled all over Kerala on the charge of Prantha Samparka Pramukh. In 1975, he was jailed for working against the emergency while he was a Thrissur district pracharak.
From 1988 to 1995 he also worked as the MD of Janmabhoomi newspaper. Assigned to BJP in 1991, P.P. Mukundan worked as the state organization secretary till 2005 and as the temple organization secretary till 2007.
Dr. He was the chief organizer of the Ekta Yatra in Kerala led by Murali Manohar Joshi. The physical body will be placed for public viewing at the RSS state office. Ernakulam Elamakara Madhava Nivas from 10.30 am to 3 pm. Then he will be taken to his hometown Kannur.

RSS Pracharak Mukundettan Ji: Prime Minister Modi and others paid tribute
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoles the demise of senior BJP leader PP Mukundan. “Mukundan ji will be remembered for his simplicity and hard work. People from all walks of life respected him for his intelligence and grassroots connection. He is a person who worked hard to strengthen BJP in Kerala. Saddened by his loss.
The Prime Minister wrote ‘Om Shanti’ on X. PP Mukundan was the strongest face of BJP ever. Entry into social work field as part of RRS during student period. He then became a full-time campaigner.
In 1975, he was jailed along with CK Padmanabhan for working against the Emergency as Thrissur District Pracharak. He worked at various levels of the RSS and was appointed as the state BJP’s organizational secretary in 1991.
He held that title till 2005 and held the charge as BJP’s South Temple Secretary till 2007. Then a long break from public activity. With PP Mukundan being remembered, an era of BJP in Kerala is coming to an end.
Mukundettan had been on hiatus for a long time due to age-related health problems. He died while undergoing treatment for respiratory ailments.
