A new unit of Ola Electric is being built under construction in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. Its EV manufacturing unit will provide employment to about 25000 jobs in Ola Electric after running on full scale.
Company’s co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal gave this information at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet today (January 7).
According to the CEO, apart from manufacturing capacity, this EV hub spread over 2000 acres will also have vendor and supplier network. Together we will make Tamil Nadu and India the global epicenter of EV.

25000 jobs in Ola Electric: Production will start from February
According to Bhavish Aggarwal, ‘We have been successful in building India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu in just eight months.
Production will start here from next month. We are starting this also in record time. This is possible only in India and Tamil Nadu.
25000 jobs in Ola Electric in this Gigafactory. Which will increase employment opportunities for people in India.
1 crore two-wheelers will be produced every year
This will be India’s first Gigafactory. There is hope when it starts running on full scale. About 1 crore two-wheelers will be manufactured here every year.
In January last year, Ola Electric had signed an MOU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest 7,000 (INR) crore in the state.

Ola Electric is the first Indian electric two-wheeler company to receive the government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) approval.
According to media reports, Ola Electric got PLI approval from the Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI) in less than 4 months.
Ola Electric has currently emerged as the market leader in the electric two-wheeler category.
The company’s market share till November was about 32%. According to vehicle data, the company sold around 30000 units of the vehicle.
