UPSSSC PET Exam Center: A large number of girl students have distanced themselves from the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission’s proposed Preliminary Eligibility Test (UP-PET) center on October 15 and 16 in non-districts. Frustrated by being sent to the center 200 to 500 km away, hundreds of women candidates have left the preparation for the examination midway. When the center came to know after the release of the admit card a week ago, the female applicants, especially the married ones, have distanced themselves from the examination. Many candidates have stopped going to coaching. Naini’s Swati Kesharwani and Priya Sahu have been given Unnao center 212 km away. Amita Singh of Rajruppur and Juhi Sahu of Naini have been sent to Lucknow, 234 km away. Amita and Swati are housewives and have given up their intention to take the exam while there is no one to take Priya and Juhi so far from home to take the exam.
Center sent to pregnant women 500 km away
There is also a situation of controversy in Gorakhpur regarding PET. Women’s centers have been sent 200 to 500 kilometers away. Many women are also pregnant in this. Premlata Pandey, the state coordinator of ANM contract union, has written a letter to the Chief Minister. Said that some women do not have a helper in the family, their children are small. In such a situation, their troubles will increase further.
Disabled and female candidates in Pashopesha
The center of the candidates of Chitrakoot has gone to Agra, 450 km away. Women say that being away from the center is a problem. Due to the distance of the center of the examinees of Auraiya, it is believed that Divyang and women will rarely participate in the examination. The female candidates of Jalaun are in dilemma due to having centers in Kanpur, Lucknow, Mahoba, Etawah. Many women are not ready to appear in the examination.
The girl students demanded to change the center
The officials in Moradabad division are accepting that the distance of the examination center is up to two hundred kilometers or even more for some of the candidates. A large number of girl students have demanded to change the center but nothing can be said on whether they will take the exam or not.
Huge craze about PET among unemployed
There has been a tremendous craze among the youth regarding UP-PET. PET is mandatory for recruitment to the posts of Lekhpal, Gram Panchayat Officer, Staff Nurse, Office Assistant, ANM, Babu in Aided Secondary Schools etc. This is the reason that 37.63 lakh applicants have registered for UP-PET across the state. In Prayagraj alone, 1,20,960 candidates have been registered and 64 centers have been set up for the proposed examination in two shifts from 10 am to 12 and 3 to 5 pm on October 15 and 16.
