Apple is going to make India the manufacturing hub for its iPhone. Apple is going to set up its biggest factory in India in Hasur, Tamil Nadu. Union Telecom and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made the announcement regarding this new plant today. Vaishnav said Apple’s biggest factory to make iPhones in India is being set up near Hosur in Bengaluru. About 60,000 people will work in this factory.
Tribal women will learn to make iPhone
Vaishnav said at the Tribal Pride Day function that six thousand tribal women living around Ranchi and Hazaribagh have been trained to make iPhones. The Union Minister said, “Apple’s iPhone is now being made in India and its largest factory in the country is being set up at Hosur near Bengaluru.” 60,000 people will work in a factory.
Women of Ranchi and Hazaribagh will get a chance
Vaishnav said that out of these 60,000 employees, the first 6,000 employees are our tribal sisters from Ranchi and places around Hazaribagh. Tribal sisters have been trained to make Apple iPhones.
Tata Electronics has got the responsibility
Apple has given the contract to set up the iPhone factory to Tata Electronics, which has a plant in Hosur. The company manufactures iPhones in India from leading electronics companies Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron.
